Fishtail brows, Instagram's new trend

The Newest Trend On The Instagram Is Fishtail Brows.

Fishtail brows are Instagram’s latest trend.

Who woulda thunk a decade ago that the largest trend manufacturer of our era would be the eyebrow? First arrived the infamous feather brow, barbed-wire brows then, Christmas tree brows then, and today, because the internet is a treasure trove, comes fishtail brows, the latest Instagram pattern that people actually kinda, sorta, like maybe?

Yesterday, beauty mecca Huda Kattan posted a picture of herself with crazy arched, horn-like brows with a definitive break up between them. “Fishtail Brows ???? Which do you prefer better?” she captioned the picture, noting that the picture of her is not actually real, but a doctored pic from the trend’s original inventor, Stefan (@skyzeditz)

So no, Huda didn’t actually shave her brows, although we’d recommend it because the appearance is killer.

Stefan first shared his fishtail look on Instagram a couple of days ago, with the caption, “Fishtail Brows ???? what do you consider? ????” The post quickly amassed more than 11,000 loves, and like that just, a fresh Instagram trend was created, with makeup performers and regular ol’ humans publishing they undertake the trend, to a variety of enthusiasts and haters, who have taken up to Instagram to tone of voice their views. As usual.

“I found one of the models on America’s Next Top Model with an up-wards slit in her eyebrow and thought it was amazing, therefore I Photoshopped an extreme, more dramatic version from it onto a picture of Huda,” says Stefan to MarieClaire.com, adding that he noticed “it looked much like a fishtail,” which is where in fact the name originated. “Huda then reposted my image, and it has turned into a substantial tendency that many people are now doing,” he says.

Obviously, eyebrow slits (which involve shaving small lines into the brows) are nothing at all new-they’ve been a longtime staple in the hip-hop community. And even though fishtail brows aren’t quite a similar thing, because they’re the consequence of careful combing and pencil shaping and real Photoshopping, than shaving rather, they’re still certainly similar to the OG slits, so, you understand, credit where credit arrives.

Still, if you’re into using the craze out, which we support fully, please get inspired by these photos below, and tell us whether this is a yay or nay from you on the development.
